Yuri supports professional dancers, dance teachers, aspiring dancers and their parents to build and maintain their Emotional Wellness using her skill as a certified professional coach, paired with 20+ years of experience working with the world class artists in this industry.   

 

Coaching with Yuri will challenge your current ways of thinking, review your reactions to all emotions, address any limiting beliefs, interpretations, or assumptions and help you see a pattern in your distorted thinking and discover what other ways it might be affecting you.  Together, we can identify any obstacles potentially affecting your professional and personal life, and finally get to kick out that inner critic who has outstayed his/her welcome.

We explore what’s already there deep within you, find your unique strengths, identify what’s holding you back and to work towards having a healthy, joyful, fulfilling career as well as turning challenges into opportunities so you can enter the next chapter of your life fearlessly.

What is Emotional Wellness Coaching?

CULTIVATE CALM.  FACE UNCERTAINTY.  BUILD RESILIENCE. 

Being a dancer, or having been one, you may think you are on top of the wellness thing because you exercise, you eat what's good for your body, you see your Physiotherapist regularly, and dedicate many hours tending to your aches and pains.  But when was the last time you asked yourself, "Hey, how are you feeling?"

We all experience what is perceived as negative emotions on daily basis.  Stress, fear, sadness, anxiety, disappointment, guilt, shame, jealousy... you name it, we've all felt them, yet so few of us know how to handle those feelings.  We try and escape from them, because they don't make us feel good.  We try and fill our heads with positive thoughts or perhaps distract ourselves by numbing those feelings.  The problem is that these coping methods only provide temporary solutions.  Unaddressed emotional distress can lead to negative consequences such as changes to sleeping/eating patterns, difficulty focusing, physical illnesses, and strained relationships.

As your Emotional Wellness Coach, I will hold the safe space for you to get out of your head, to discover how you are truly feeling deep down.  The space for you to just be... without judgment.  I will support you and challenge you while you gain greater self-awareness and understanding, and find tools and skills that works for you to manage these powerful emotions.
